Please welcome AJ Van Voorhis as the new Knights Football Coach. A note from Coach V:
I am honored to be introduced as the next Head Football Coach at Irondale High School. I bring 12 years of coaching experience and a deep passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field. I graduated from Champlin Park High School in 2009 and went on to attend North Dakota State University from 2009–2014, where I was a defensive back on the program’s first three FCS National Championship teams. I began my coaching career in 2014 at Champlin Park High School as the Special Teams Coordinator and Safeties Coach, a role I held until 2018. From 2019 through 2022, I served as the Defensive Coordinator and Safeties Coach at Blaine High School, before joining Irondale High School in 2023 as the Defensive Coordinator through the 2025 season.
I currently live in Brooklyn Park with my wife, Haley, and our two dogs. Outside of football, I enjoy working on outdoor projects, fishing at the lake, and spending quality time with family and friends. I am excited and truly grateful for the opportunity to lead the Knights football program. I look forward to working closely with our athletes and their families, the administration, and the Irondale community to build something special. Go Knights!
